Vakhtang Zaalishvili, Piano Teacher at Cunningham Music School

Born on July 7, 1997, in the historic city of Tbilisi, Georgia, Vakhtang Zaalishvili embarked on his musical journey with a deep passion for the piano. His early years were shaped in the nurturing environment of the Tbilisi Zakaria Paliashvili Central Music School. Under the expert guidance of Professors Nana Makharadze and Viktor Chaplinskaya, he honed his skills from 2009 to 2018, laying a strong foundation for his future achievements.

Continuing his pursuit of musical excellence, Vakhtang enrolled in the Tbilisi State Conservatoire in 2018 to pursue a Bachelor's degree in "Performing Art." Here, he studied under the tutelage of renowned professors like Nino Katamadze, Nino Chirakadze, Lali Bakradze, and Tamar Licheli. His dedication and hard work paid off as he delved deeper into the intricacies of piano performance.

Vakhtang's ambition didn't stop at piano performance. He expanded his expertise to the realm of opera coaching. His journey as an opera coach began with a traineeship at the prestigious Conservatorio Arrigo Boito in Parma, Italy, from 2021 to 2022. This experience enriched his understanding of music and performance, adding another layer to his already impressive skill set.

Vakhtang's career is marked by a series of remarkable achievements. He has participated in numerous competitions, festivals, and opera productions, earning laureates and diplomas. Some of his notable accolades include laureate and diploma for “The Best Performing Skills” at the Future Star 8th republic competition/festival in Tbilisi (2015), first place at the "Music Without Limits XVI International Competition" in Lithuania (2016), and a Laureate Diploma at the 7th International Moritz Moskowski Piano Competition in Poland (2017). His participation in the Gradus piano Festival in Denmark (2018) and his exceptional performances in opera productions like "Falstaff" and "Le Nozze Di Figaro" further showcase his versatility and talent.

Vakhtang's rich working experience includes roles as a piano accompanist and opera coach at the Tbilisi State Conservatoire and as a piano pedagogue in a private music studio in Saguramo, Georgia. His journey has now led him to the United States, where he currently imparts his vast knowledge and expertise at the Nelly Berman School of Music in Haverford, PA, since October 2023.
