Benjamin Harding is Dean of the School of Music at Cairn University. Benjamin has Bachelor degrees from Cairn University, a Masters degree and Professional Studies certificate from Manhattan School of Music, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance from the University of Maryland, College Park. He is also Director of Worship Ministries at Riverstone Church in Yardley, PA.
Kenneth Borrmann
Kenneth Borrmann is an Associate Professor of Music and Chair of Keyboard Studies at Cairn University. He is also the director of the Cairn Handbell Choir and the ensemble Laudate. Mr. Borrmann holds a B.S. in Bible and a B.Mus. in piano performance from Cairn University and a M.M. in piano performance from West Chester University. He is active as an accompanist and chamber music collaborator in the Philadelphia area performing works from the early Baroque to the present. His solo
piano recitals have featured the works of Beethoven, Chopin, Rachmaninoff, and Liszt.
David Shockey
David M. Shockey is an adjunct faculty member (voice) in the School of Music at Cairn University. Now semi-retired – after a 43-year career in education (35 at Cairn University) – he conducted the University Chorale and the University Chamber Singers. Duties also included teaching diction (French, German, Italian, Latin and English), Vocal Literature, Choral Literature, Choral Conducting, Vocal Pedagogy, Class Voice and music theory. At present he teaches private voice at Cairn University. He earned a B.S. in Music education from Roberts Wesleyan College, a M.M. in Vocal Performance from the Eastman School of Music and a D.M.A. in Vocal Performance from The Ohio State University. Presently. In February 1996 he was guest conductor of the Pennsylvania District 11 High School Choir, held at Neshaminy High School.
Micah Leary
This is Micah Leary’s third year studying piano performance at Cairn University under Kenneth Borrmann. Having participated in various competitions, Micah has competed as a finalist in the Claudette Sorel Piano competition, BPO Young Musician competition, National Talents for Christ Competition, and Crescendo International Music Competition. Micah has performed many works by Chopin, Rachmaninoff, and Beethoven, and recently made his Carnegie Hall debut playing Rachmaninoff’s Etude Tableau Op. 39, No. 6. Micah plans to graduate in the spring of 2020 and hopes to pursue piano post-baccalaureate.
Rebekah Stiles
Rebekah Stiles is a third-year student at Cairn University pursuing degrees in Piano Performance and Bible. Recently, she made her Carnegie Hall debut as a winner of the Crescendo International Music Competition, and she will soon perform as a featured soloist with the Cairn Symphony Orchestra as a winner of the Outstanding Young Christian Artist competition. In 2018, she and Micah Leary presented a full-length duo piano recital including works by Mozart, Lutoslawski, and Rachmaninoff, and she currently serves as accompanist for the Cairn University Chorale. Rebekah is a student of Kenneth Borrmann and plans to pursue piano in her graduate studies.
