Patrick Cunningham recognized in "Irish Philadelphia"
If you live in or around Philadelphia, here is a great book to pick up.
Marita Krivda Paxon wrote about the role of the Irish in the development of modern Philadelphia. Ms. Paxon had already enjoyed a career as a medical librarian, so she was no stranger to research. A book that explored part of her family background in her native city was an exciting prospect.
In the book, there is an entire chapter dedicated to identifying and giving some information on some of the most influential Irishmen in Philadelphia history. Because of his business success, community involvement, and stature in Philadelphia society, Patrick J. Cunningham was a natural to make her list.
