Charles dePasquale

Raised in a very musical family, Mr. dePasquale, whose father, Joseph, was the Principal Violist of the Philadelphia Orchestra. He started cello lessons at a young age with his uncle Francis dePasquale, who was a cellist in the Philadelphia Orchestra. He also studied with Samuel Mayes, William Stokking, Orlando Cole, and Mihaly Virizlay,

Over his performance career, Mr. dePasquale has performed with several music organizations in the area, including; the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Philly Pops, the Concerto Soloists, the Delaware Symphony, and the Allentown Symphony. Currently, he performs with the Reading Symphony, the Kennett Symphony, and the Ocean City Pops.

In the field of education, he recently retired from teaching for approximately 30 years in the West Chester Area School District. His responsibilities there were directing two secondary
orchestral programs, in addition to directing an award-winning extra-curricular high school string ensemble, the West Chester Senior Strings. For nine years, he directed the string ensemble and taught the string methods classes at Immaculata University. Currently, he directs the Ursinus Strings at Ursinus College.

His education includes; a Bachelors Degree in Music Performance from the New School of Music (a private conservatory that is now part of Temple University); Graduate studies at
Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, MD and the Philadelphia College of Performing Arts (now called the University of the Arts); PA Teacher’s Certification from West Chester University and a Masters Degree in Music Therapy from Immaculata University.
