University of the Arts Music Department
We recently had a chance to preview the incredible $11 million renovation taking place at the University of the Arts School of Music in Center City, Philadelphia. The school will be moving from their current facilities within the Merriam Theater building into two gleaming floors of the Terra Hall Building just a few blocks away. In addition to state-of-the-art classrooms, recording spaces, and practice studios, the School of Music recently acquired 13 brand new Yamaha CLP-645 Clavinovas. Many thanks to Micah Jones, the Dean of the School of Music, who gave Rich and me the grand tour. Congratulations, University of the Arts, for putting Philadelphia on the map in a big way for music education and for providing a 22nd century music school for your students and faculty (they just went ahead and skipped a century!)
